Implicit Curve Gradients
In a harder implicit equation, mark every term containing before differentiating. Some need the chain rule; a product such as needs the product rule as well.

Use the gradient
- A horizontal tangent needs : the numerator is zero while the denominator is non-zero.
- A vertical tangent occurs when the denominator is zero while the numerator is non-zero, so the gradient is not finite.
- If both are zero, the fraction gives and does not decide the tangent.
